An eagle with the head facing to the left, is a left-hand collar badge (worn on the wearer's left lapel so the eagle always faces inward toward the throat).The straight-across block stamp (FIRMIN LONDON) is the definitive marking for Firmin's post-WWI 1919 contract. Later mid-century strikes shifted to curved stamps or added "& Sons", which means that the piece is a verified original August 1919 issue.
